I decided that I haven't made my bf anything in a while so I stayed up excited to formulate my idea. I chose to do a business card because he left his wallet with me that day and forgot about it, so I figured he'd be happily surprised to find a lil card in there courtesy of me next time he was looking in there. He loved it =3.

I chose 3 adjectives to decribe him and found the matching font to go with it. (Yes we're both poke-nerds, so I called him Pokemon Master, lol)

At first my idea was to make a card of Hello Kitty frolicking in a flower field, but after some thought I decided to do a Christmas theme. I got some Christmas-y essentials, like a tree, a fireplace, stockings, presents, etc., and put them all together ^^.

She really liked the card, especially where I glued real cotton for the santa hat. XD

I took all day to get ready for the dance. I got my hair done at a salon, and I did my own nails and makeup.

I've actually never gone to a dance before, but I had a good time, (although I did take some time getting my boyfriend to let go of all of his inhibitions and just DANCE!)

I felt kinda silly dancing because I haven't done it very often, but I have 2 more dances coming up, so I'll have plenty of practice ^^

Did these last night while doing homework:

Materials used:

(The colors inside don't look uniform in the bottle because I added white to the pink and blue to make them more pastel)

Steps:
1. Paint blue on entire nail
2. Take pink brush, move it diagonally across nail and color in
3. Take brush from silver sparkle polish and paint a medium sized line in between where the pink and blue meet
4. Apply top coat

4 Things I've learned from Looking at Real Estate

At my young age I am no expert on buying property, but I have maganed to gain some knowledge on the subject from being brought along with others in search of a new place. Seeing so many houses and condos in the past few years has taught me some things, and I'd like to share my knowledge with you.

Quick Disclaimer:
You might disagree with me on some things on this list but remember that it's based on my points of view and told from my experiences only.

1. Avoid places that owners had been smoking in
It is a BAD idea to smoke inside where you live. Besides the fact that it'll be harder for you to sell your property later on because many people will not wanna live there and breathe that stuff in, the smell will stick to the walls and WILL NOT come out. You may be saying "well, why not just paint over the smell?", but listen. I've gone into a condo that had fresh new paint (in the owner's attempt to cover the smell), and the stench just seeped through and you could still tell that people used to smoke there. Some of you may be tolerant to places like that, but many will have a hard time breathing =(.

2. Make sure the paint on the walls isn't crappy
Wet your finger and rub a small spot on the wall. If the paint comes off you might have a problem! That's what I found out about my house. The builders used HORRIBLE quality paint, so when you get the walls dirty you can wipe off the paint just by rubbing on it with a wet paper towel. Everytime I get something on the wall we have to paint over it.

3. Keep away from MOLD!
I went to look at a house which was listed as having some mold. I walked in, smelled it, and walked right out. Moldy places reek, and take some serious cash to get rid of. Unless the house is super wonderfull and cheap, I don't think it's worth it to shell out so much money. Why do some houses get moldy? Well, when house sellers turn off their air conditioning to save money after they move out, they make it humid, which, over time, risks the development and spread of mold, yuck!

4. Check how thin the walls are
When the walls are paper thin you better consider looking elsewhere. My house had poor insulation, which turned even worse after we got wooden floors. The thin walls are so echo-y that the sound of me walking upstairs, or taking a shower, or watching tv would wake people up. Also, condos might have the same problem, especially if you have neighbors upstairs. My mom's friend bought a condo on the first floor and she hated it. Her neighbor would wake up at 6 in the morning every day, and she could hear him walking around and get no sleep.

Pastel Nail Polish for Less: Mix Yourself

Pastel polishes are my favorite ^^

I like making my own by mixing until I get the shade that I want.

The cheap way I make pastels is by going to the dollar store and buying $1 polishes. Then I take a white nail polish and pour some in (taking my time to shake and mix it) for cute and unique colors you won't find at the store.

The reason some polishes are so cheap is because the pigmentation is not as strong as in the brand name ones. For that reason, the cheaper brands usually take 3-4 coats to become as vivid as the more expensive kind. Mixing in the white into the bottle takes away the seethrough-ishness of the nail polish.

So far i've turned: yellow, blue, green, pink, and orange, into pastels and I think that they all look better because they are very bold, and adorable.

This is so ridiculous. This woman (Pamela Pilger for all you angry mobs out there ) is completely out of line, what is wrong with her?

Hopefully, the strong response against her stupidity will teach her to keep her mouth shut.

But she wasn't even the only one who felt that way: in the video you can see two men clearly defending her.

What is the matter with these idiots who come to the meetings and start comparing everything to Nazi Germany, and saying Obama is Hitler? I am SO ashamed to be living in the same country as them.

2) Apply dots of pink all over nails-let them dry for 5 mins.
3) Pour out some black polish, take a toothpick, and dip it in, making random lines, and "C's" around the pink circles.

I was really inspired to make a cutout card by viewing some of the stamping cardmaking blogs-especially Stamping With Friends. I don't have a stamping set, so I drew everything by hand, carefully cut it out, and placed the sheet over a white piece of paper.

I think my Mom will love it, especially with the kitty in the middle, and the gift card to her favorite restaurant ^^

Materials used:
Colorful construction paper in pink, white, red, black, and purple.
White buttons
Scrapbook letter stickers

I found this nail buffer, and I thought it was pretty weird that it had SEVEN different sides, while the average nail buffers (or mine at least), are rectangular, with 3 different buffer surfaces.

Nail Art Tutorial: Make Polka Dots with Reinforcement Stickers

This is the look:

I think the nails look really cute, and I wanted to share how I made them, but I already have my nails on my hands painted, so I'll show the tutorial on my big toes. I am also going to be using 2 colors of dots this time: a black and a red.

First I did some tests on a sheet of paper to see which color combinations I might like and decided on the silver:

When making my nails I used: nail file, scissors, buffing block, reinforcements-self adhesive while labels (they are found in office supply stores, and used for sticking around paper holes that have been ripped), sparkled silver, a red, and a black (polish manufacturer unknown), and a Sally Hansen shiny top coat.

After trimming, filing, and buffing my toenails, I painted 3 coats of sparkled silver:

Make sure you take enough time to dry every nail coat (and the dots). I didn't wait long enough and had to do alot of touch ups-the sticker would take some of the polish as I pulled it off.

On average, (when I don't rush myself doing this) I let coat#1 dry 5mins, coat#2 dry 10mins, and coat#3 dry 1o-15mins just to be safe.

After the coats I stick a reinforcement on a nail (You can pretty much place them wherever you want) like this:

Then I filled it in with the black:

I took the stickers off about 10 seconds after I applied the thin film of polish, and let them dry 10mins:

It's important to wait for all of the dots to dry thoroughly, believe me.

After the first set of dots, I did the second set with the red, and after I ran out of room to make full circles I cut the stickers in half:

I put a top coat on and let it dry for 15 mins, and here's the end result:

It's a lil messy, but Phew, it's tough to do it on the toes. I'm tired -.-zzzz

Time to Get a Job

I'm off to get my first job!

in a minute.

First i'll eat, clean up, get dressed, and THEN i'll look for work .I'll go to all of the places I planned to visit today in my search for a job!

or maybe just a few,

I mean I AM pretty tired from staying up last night, plus it gets really hot from 11AM to 3PM. I guess i'll take sunscreen with me...and maybe some money-I might be hungry while i'm there.

Hmm...maybe I'll go look for work tommorrow since it won't be a major emergency if I don't go today anyways....

but I did tell my mom,

then she'll think that I'm being an irresponsible teenager and I will keep putting it off until school starts.....

Must to be responsible.

But I'm sooo tired.

I'll go nap a few hours, and then I'll go get a job ^^
